How was your Thanksgiving? We were truly grateful to celebrate with family and friends. I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed setting not one, but TWO tables!!! 🍽The larger table was a delightful mix of old & new. All the plates are from @juliskaofficial; we mixed Jardins Du Monde with the gold & platinum Firenze Medici, with napkins from @bodrumlinens & stunning pearl napkin rings from @kimseybert. Each placetting was stacked atop antique mother of pearl placemats (with coasters to match!). An antique silver pumpkin punch bowl was our centerpiece, with glass hurricane candle holders (by @zodax_decor) and a few mini sequined pumpkins on each side. 🍽On the smaller table we used Siesta Island dinner and bread & butter plates by @hermes, with Jute service plates from @vietriinc and straw napkin rings from Juliska. Navy watercolor leaves placemats and napkins with an orange border- both by @hollystuarthome- helped to make this sunny china pattern look a bit more autumnal. For the centerpiece, we just added a beautiful boxed candle by @luxfragrances to a bowl of mandarin oranges! So lovely... and SO easy! All wine glasses were from @riedel_official. 🧡Hope you enjoyed the holiday as much as we did! 🦃

We lost a member of the Hanley-Wood family when Betsy Welmaker O’Connell passed away on November 9th. She was kind & cheerful, and she made many beautiful displays at Hanley-Wood— a skill she no doubt acquired as the proprietor of Violet Talk. People still talk about Betsy’s homemade fudge!
She leaves behind many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Our store will be closed from 12:30 - 3:00 pm today for the memorial service, which will be held November 22, 2019 at 1:00pm, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 315 E. Pecan St.
