Sterling Silver Cup from Whitting Manufacturing

Neoclassical, sterling silver cup, Providence, Rhode Island, Ca. 1880's, Whiting Manufacturing. Measures almost 4 inches high x 4 1/2 inches wide from edge of handle to outer edge of rim of cup x 3 inches diameter of opening. Reeded birder on base. Designed with two figures leaning on either side of the cartouche which has a space for an engraving. The bottom of the cartouche is designed with the face of the mythological Green Man (a good luck symbol).
