In the Middle Ages, guests brought sweet buns that were placed in a pile over which the bride and groom kissed. The taller the pile, the more prosperous the couple. This evolved into the tiered cake we know today. This Wedding Cake ornament serves as a keepsake of the special day or anniversary.
